Published authors have often had fans come up to them and offer to “give” them great story ideas that they ought to use themselves. The irony is that most published authors have Continue reading this post »

The Story Ideas Virtuoso Supports Blog Jog Day 2010

It’s Blog Jog Day 2010!
Thank you for stopping by The Story Ideas Virtuoso blog today. November 21, 2010 is a special day for more than 60 bloggers across the web. It’s called Blog Jog Day — 24 hours devoted to celebrating blogs and introducing new readers to what we web writers have to say about our chosen topics.
Here at The Story Ideas Virtuoso, I teach fiction writers how to find, as you might expect from the name, story ideas. In addition I offer creative writing exercises, tips, prompts and inspiration, as well as advice on how to beat writers’ block. You’ll find nearly 450 blog posts (as of this writing) on those topics and much, much more. I feature writers who specialize in creativity, the psychology of writing and anything else that can be of help to fiction writers.
So please explore all that’s offered here. When you’ve sated your appetite on writing topics, then “jog” on over to R. L. Jean’s site dedicated to her novel The Noble Pirates. From reading about how to write, you can then read a pirate adventure chapter by chapter, from an author who has put this whole writing thing together and produced a novel.
If you would like to visit a different site in the Blog Jog Day festivities, go to http://blogjogday.blogspot.com where you will find a listing of participating blogs. Take advantage of this whirlwind tour and be prepared for some interesting, varied and fun reading. Be sure to bookmark your favorite blogs.
While you’re here, I invite you to do three things:
- Scroll down to the social media icons below this post and share this blog with your friends and contacts.
- Sign up for a free download in the sidebar to the right as my gift to you for stopping by. Simply enter your first name and best email address into the red form, so I can send you the download link to “Writer’s Block — Facing Down the Dreaded Blank Page.”
- While you’re waiting for my email to you with the free download link, continue to the next stop on the Blog Jog Day tour at http://thenoblepirates.com/. ENJOY!

Do You Procrastinate?
I’ve been meaning to write this article for awhile now, but somehow it never got done until today, when I absolutely HAD to write a blog post. If procrastination is something you struggle with, you’re in awfully good company. I just read an article about four steps I can take to stop procrastinating.
Unfortunately I have put off following the advice until a more opportune time than today or this week or this century. If you, however, are intrigued by the quote below, you might want to check out the article on procrastination here at Wordpreneur. (Link opens in new window.)
