Story Ideas – the Earth-Sun Connection

Researchers have discovered ‘magnetic portals’ that form in Earth’s magnetosphere. Now, I realize that these are not portals that people can travel through. They’re how high-energy particles travel from the Sun to the Earth.
But as a writer with a vivid imagination and a love of fantasy and science fiction, just reading that Earth and its sun are connected in this way, intermittently, got my creative juices flowing.
