More Story Ideas from Journaling
By Deb Gallardo
Today’s feature is from ArticlesBoom.net, this time a post about journaling, in my “kind of” impromptu series of posts about how useful journals are to authors. Famous authors like Virginia Woolf have had their journals published. I’ve never found mine to be of particular interest to anyone else, and sometimes they are a source of embarrassment to me. I’ve never written consistently. The one time in my life that I tried to write faithfully in a journal, I kept it in the bathroom. Unfortunately the subject matter frequently leaned toward bodily functions and the weather. Not exactly publishable material…
Here are things you can write in your journal (not in the bathroom, necessarily, in case you’re short of ideas on what to journal about. Wish I’d had this resource way back when.
(A) Record your feelings, emotions and reactions at the time;
(B) Describe, as best you can, the people places and incidents that happened during your day that were notable for their emotional content;
(C) Record conversations.
