Story Ideas – - Back on Track
By Deb Gallardo
I have a confession to make.
In my haste to keep good content coming on this blog, I lost my focus for awhile. I am happy with the quality of what is on these pages, but the central theme – - the reason why I started this blog and why I wrote the eBook that I pray will soon have a place online – - may not be apparent because of that lack of focus.
Here and there you’ll find scattered some instruction on finding story ideas, but I haven’t done the job I set out to do, perfectionist that I am. That job is to help writers, whether many-times-published or still aspiring, whether blocked or otherwise stuck in their writing, to be able to consistently find story ideas AT WILL!
And I have another dream. I’d like to be the go-t0 person that aspiring writers seek out to get them going on that novel they’ve been aching to do for years.
What I seem to have a knack for, what is REALLY easy for me, is to find story ideas all around me. I’m not alone in this skill. But it IS a skill, which means it is LEARNABLE. No one is born with an inexhaustible well of ideas for stories.
And it’s my belief that lack of story ideas is one of – - if not the – - key reasons aspiring writers just aspire and never get beyond dreaming about writing.
So, I, Deb Gallardo, The Story Ideas Virtuoso, do hereby promise to focus more on helping you find story ideas for your creative writing projects, and less on the general subject of the writing craft. I’ll still provide you with plenty of writing tips, exercises and advice, plus include some articles on the business of writing. But my intent is for story idea articles to outweigh the others.
My next post is a special bonus to my readers. I’ll be giving you a sneak peek at my eBook, which I’m happy to say should be on sale within the week. Woo-hoo! (You have nooooo idea.)
Thanks for reading, and check back here often. — Deb
