3 Writing Wishes – What Do You Wish You Knew or Had?
By Deb
3 Wishes
I got the idea for this blog post from my mentor, Lynn Terry of clicknewz.com (opens in new window) and selfstartersweeklytips.com (opens in new window). Her topic is Internet Marketing, so I’m not in the least embarrassed by “stealing” her idea. Here’s the gist:
If you had three wishes related to your writing, right this minute — granted by whatever wish-granting entity you might imagine — what would those 3 wishes be AND why?
Leave a comment below with your three writing wishes, or list them on your own blog and include a link to today’s post: http://www.debgallardo.com/virtuoso/322/3-writing-wishes-what-do-you-wish-you-knew-or-had
And for one more step, if you’re willing, post your three wishes to Facebook, MySpace and last, but by no means least, TWITTER!
I love Twitter and it’s going to become more and more important to marketing your work as the years go by. Get in now if you’re not already. http://www.twitter.com (opens in new window)

Hi Deb,
You pulled me out of my comfort zone like Lynn did to write my wishes. I posted my 3 Writing Wishes on my blog at http://angierambles.blogspot.com/2008/07/wishes-wishes-everywhere-please-grant.html
Thanks

Just three? Okay, I’ll start with wishing for a muse that wasn’t so fickle. My second wish would be to have a very good friend in the publishing biz. By “good friend” I mean someone who I know secrets about that I would never tell but they don’t know that. My final writing-wish would be to create something that would have a positive impact on the reader. I want to leave a trail of warm-fuzzies instead of breadcrumbs.

Annie,
You crack me up! An unfickle muse and a publisher friend you have “dirt” on? I love it. And I’m with you on your third wish. I want to make a positive impact on the lives of people, too. It’s on my list of “What I want more than anything” list. That’s not wishes, however. That’s what WILL BE. I’m believing for that and working toward it.
Thanks for stopping by. Come back often. You’re always welcome – the door’s always open.

Hi, Deb,
Great post, enjoy your blog. Ah, the wishes… Related to writing, the First is to keep up the momentum to write a piece with passion every day of the year.
Second, words flow from my fingers on the keyboard like ink from a quill each and every time I want them to.
Third, the best seller that I know is in me comes out: gradually, easily, fluidly.
Thanks for the opportunity to share and YES, you already DO have a positive impact on people with your writing.
Best for now,
Mary

Mary,
Your kind words meant a lot to me. Glad to know I’m on my way to achieving that goal of making a positive impact. Nice of you to tell me. (blushing)
And may your wishes become reality as the words flow from fingers with passion. And whether that happens daily or once a week in a chunk of writing a week’s worth (Lynn’s technique and mine), the point is that the passion is within you. We just need a way to bring it out.
As for that best seller. Shoot for writing a page a day AFTER you plan it out. In a year, it’ll be a book!
Thanks for commenting and contributing your 3 wishes! You’re always welcome here.
