Confessions of a Writer

By Deb Gallardo

The following post from blogger Katherine Huether can be used:

1) as advice for writers about how to tell others that you’re a writer
2) as a jumping off point for reminiscing about a your own experience
3) an idea to brainstorm for a story

Here’s a brief excerpt:

When I first started out as a freelance writer, I had a hard time telling people what I did for a living… When I faltered people would stare at me, waiting for more information. My family members constantly told me to get a “real” job.

So if you’re a beginner, how do you get to that point? …as I had deadlines and other things to keep me busy, I had no problem telling people about what I did as a living.

Read how to tell people you’re a writer.
