The Writing Life – A Video For All Who Write
By Deb Gallardo
This Nancy Meyers film short, created for the 2007 Academy Awards, is SO GOOD that I figured out how to embed You-Tube videos on my site. It will resonate with every writer, make you smile and definitely tickle your funny bone. Beware of watching at work, the library or home late at night — you may find yourself laughing out loud. This is a “Wish I’d thought of that” gem. Nancy Meyers, you rock! Enjoy.
(This montage was put together because of the Hollywood writers’ strike. It was a series of clips from movies with some kind of scene about writers. It was a masterful bit of editing, but has, sadly, been removed from You-Tube by Nancy Meyers herself. It was her work, and she certainly had every right to do that. I’m only sorry that if you are just now coming to this article that you won’t be able to see it. If you were to do a video search on Google, you might still be able to locate a copy on esnips.com, although you must sign up to view anything, and it is only for personal use. Hence, the reason I cannot include it here.)
